Nissan xterra vdc off slip reset.

Yesterday while parked in a parking lot the VDC/ABS/BRAKE and SLIP lights all came on. When I turn off the car and then it back on, none of the lights come on until I start driving. I looked online for a fix and get everything from a blown ABS/STOP LIGHT fuse to replacing the ABS sensor. Of course, it's due for the yearly inspection this month and I'm not sure it will pass in Texas with those four lights on.This cleared the VDC and Slip problem, but there must be a more direct way. Any help would be appreciated. Hi! What I have seen on the xterra is the steering angle sensors out of adjust, this will turn on the lights. You will have to reset with the nissan scan tool, for center wheel adjustment setting. Thanks ROY!Pull your Xterra to an area where you can drive straight ahead without turning the wheel for a couple hundred feet. Have the wheel straight. Turn off engine. Restart engine and pull straight ahead in drive. Light should go off in a couple hundred feet. The book is not too clear on this.

I know the ABS system can get a abnormal battery voltage code some times when the battery is changed. Jay : Some times just removing the negative battery cable for 10 mins may clear it. But if it doesn't, then it will need to be scanned to see what the code is, so it can be corrected.

Take Xterra to a semi straight road. Straighten steering wheel and turn off the car. Start the car back up go straight. Should take about 10 feet and lights will turn off and vdc is reset.

Most alignment shops won't do this. If the steering angle sensor is way off, the VDC light will stay on and the system will not work at all. If it is only slightly off, it can confuse the computer.
