The several threads on this topic all appear to use the IKEA Lonset slats (these are the more expensive ones that have rubber bumpers that the slats fit into). My question is: has anyone done this mod using the simpler curved wooden LUROY slates from IKEA? I’ve had LUROY slats on multiple beds over the years and never had an issue with breakage during sex. And I’ve smashed some heavy muscle dudes over the years with combined weight well over you and your partner. The suggestion to use 2x4 instead isn’t bad…the old cheap LADE slats were essentially that.
